Our Journey Begins!



Study Tour is a recreational trip the students and school students to gain additional knowledge directly from the field. The trip itself is actually a study tour will be helpful when selecting a educational tour. Why helpful? Because the study tour will make an open mind and female students about education in outdoor areas.
Benefits study tour include:
  1. Provide resources to enrich the factual information contained in the book, and create text in a book to be meaningful. Sometimes just by reading a book alone will feel tired and can not penetrate it uruh explanation in the book. Study tours provide solutions to this problem, because it can plunge into the field to see or observe the learning objects.
  2.  Develop an attitude of curiosity and broaden understanding Study tour which is a program of student learning directly into the field, the look and observe automatically arise curiosity and desire for more ask for not being able to explain the observed phenomenon directly in the field.
  3. Provide experience through objects, places, situations, and relationships between people that can not be provided in class. Not all the events and learning objects can be presented in the classroom, and therefore the study tour can solve this problem through direct research spaciousness.
  4. Sharpen environmental awareness. By direct observation of learning objects into the environment will be more familiar characteristic and distinctive environmental characteristics in accordance with the object under study.
  5.  Introduce me about the possibility of job or career field that I can enter the line with my ideals. Study tours can foster a sense of interested students to the object being observed, after I finished the activities will be mainly looking out to satisfy his interest in the object being observed. That leads me to work according to my field of interest when observing the objects.
  6. Combining classroom with the latest community and environment greater and more meaningful. By going directly to the field will be more integrated with the new community outside the classroom so that there will be new things that is interesting and unique.
  7. Deepen intimacy with friends in the classroom and training cooperation between students in a group. When the study tour lasted me see new things exciting, new things I will share with friends.
  8. Provide an atmosphere of relaxation amid the sometimes drab routine. The density of the learning situation in the classroom and also boredom on the environment from day to day just that-it just made me become saturated. By holding study tour will provide relaxation and refreshment in the middle density monotonous learning in the classroom.
I am very motivated in participating in this year's study tour. Korea is a country that is on the rise and I am very curious about the Korean nation, as a culture, a lifestyle, a way of talking, ways to interact with each other, attitude and others. I look forward to the trip to Korea for 8 days, I can understand the true state of Korea.





Korea is a country very well-known fashion. When I was in Korea, I was amazed by them. They are very orderly and clean. There is no garbage on the streets, orderly driving, crossing the road in place, smoking in place. Their unique language made me like being in a Korean drama scene. They have a distinctive call according to their age. The word "anneyong" can only say to those who are already familiar. If we say the word "anneyong" by people who do not know, it's not polite. Often we hear the word "oppa" which means calling someone younger to older people, but it is only for those who are already familiar with.






I visited two very famous university in Korea, namely Sogang University and Seoul Institute Of The Arts. Sogang University, founded by the Society of Jesus in 1960, is the only Jesuit higher educational Institution in Korea. In spite of its relatively short history, Sogang University has established its place as one of the top universities in Korea.
There are 26 majors and 9 interdisciplinary programs offered in the undergraduate program with 8.100 students and 415 full-time, tenure-track professors. The are 12 graduate schools including professional and special graduate schools with a student enrollment of 4.000 in the master’s and doctoral programs. Around 3.000 foreign students study annually at Sogang University in various academic programs.
Recognized for its high standards for quality education, Sogang University boasts the highest rate of graduate employment in major corporations in Korea with over forty thousand alumni working in influential positions in various areas of society. In its efforts to make the campus more international, Sogang University offers the best service to foreign students in order to make their stay at Sogang as pleasant and memorable as possible.





Seoul Institute of Arts, the founding statement pursued by Seoul Institute of the Arts to nurture Korea’s greatest artists is as follows: “We shall inherit the spirit and traditions of our country's art and culture and then spread them far and wide. Also, we shall pave the way to discover unexplored forms of art through production and experimentation. We shall nurture emerging artists through production of original work and specialized training to creatively pursue new art forms and gain independent identity and globalization. The truth and beauty these artists realize will ultimately contribute to our country's culture and furthermore to the world’s culture.”
Chi-Jin Yoo devoted his life to awaken the stagnant art world of Korea at that time. To lay the foundation, he established the Research Society for the Dramatic Arts in 1931. In 1962, he founded the Drama Center, the Korean Theater Research Institute, and the Theater Academy, all of which have evolved to become Seoul Institute of the Arts of today.
Art is our oldest cultural heritage and our nation has its own unique national art just like other nations in the world. However, our society did not understand art and so a great deal of time passed during which art did not develop, and accordingly among the three countries of Korea, China and Japan, unfortunately our art is the most behind and out of date. The reason I established the Korea Art Research Center was to overcome this situation and raise the standard of our national art in the world. Art resources and information should be managed to this end.

The Drama Center, School and Library at the Korea Art Research Center will perform the duties mentioned above, both together and separately. Many students who want to study art, and capable professors and artists have gathered at the Center. Therefore, I'm very hopeful for the future: this has been my dream since I was young; my dream and also the dream of my art comrades. It is my sincere desire that this dream transforms the Center into a cornerstone in the fostering of our national art.
The development goals of Seoul Institute of the Arts (SeoulArts) to promote the Founding Statement are as follows:
1.    Global Creative Environment for Korean Arts to Meet the World
With cutting edge technologies, the world continues to grow smaller. SeoulArts is dedicated to pursue the universal truth and environmentally friendly creative endeavors while building a global learning environment to share our art with the world.

2.    Collaboration, Circulation, and Integration
In the 21st Century, the arts are evolving with various fields coming together. We are living in the era where all arts infinitely expand their territory beyond boundaries. To stay ahead, we will expand the major studies and offer intensive programs through collaboration, circulation, and integration.

3.    Strengthening Industry-Academy Cooperation for the Integration of Schools, and Society
SeoulArts produces artistic projects not only within the school but also with the related industries outside of the school. We will continue to establish ties to support our incubating system that brings the faculty together with industrial experts to support our students’ research and business activities in various fields of art.

4.    Integrating Art with Science
In today’s digital age, cutting edge technologies are being applied to all the arts. Our educational system is designed to recognize the latest developments in arts production and implement them for the students.
The characteristics and educational orientation of Seoul Institute of the Arts are stated clearly and concretely in our Missions and Goals. The purpose of the establishment, philosophy, educational goals, vision, and strategies for improvement of the Institute.
The School Corporation, Dongnang Arts Foundation, inherited the spirit and achievements of Chi-Jin Yoo and established Seoul Institute of the Arts in order to promote our national culture in the world, one that unites the national spirit with the worldwide universality rooted in Korean traditional art. To embody this, it stated its philosophy and educational goals and declared vision and strategies.



Workshop topic :
1.    A sharing session with the students, about Korean Culture and curriculum of communication subjects / courses
2.    Talk about the Student activities organized at the university
3.    Talk about current Multimedia trends in Korea, how Korea is well-know for the Digital media and multimedia technology
4.    As for the topic, perhaps something along the lines of “What makes Korea a leading country in Digital media Industry”
5.    Facility Visit and a demonstration of how a news program is produced

Korean tradition becomes a new thing for me. Korean students are very friendly and the technology they have very sophisticated. The facilities they have are also very complete. Visit tour that we do, not just on campus alone, outside the campus such as MBC Wolrd and Samsung Delight very good. They strongly supported the products they create and are very proud of it. Most Koreans wear their homemade products is Samsung. In the subway, Koreans wear their gadgets to read comics online and tv for wifi in Korea is available and has a signal is available everywhere, making it easier for them to access the internet. The Korean people are very surprised to learn that the country of Korea is booming in Indonesia. They even do not know the country of Indonesia.
Each presentation made at Sogang University and SIA are very nice. At SIA, there are subjects in which they communicate with their professors of different countries, using skype live. It was very pleasant, they really use technology that they have. SIA is a university that focuses on the arts, the number of rooms they have applying sophisticated technology and can be operated by the students.
The difficulty I faced is that I could not speak and does not understand Korean so that when a taxi ride, I could not communicate with the taxi driver. And the Korean people there are some who do not understand English.















My conclusion for the Study Tour this year is, I feel that we get to experience this country. Language differences were very testing me during my stay in Korea. Korean tourist visits fun and unique culture made me love this country. Electronic technology of Korea kept me captivated the country and the first time I visited the developed countries after Singapore, I think Korea is extraordinary, creating advanced technologies and always proud of his creation.
